- JP-1
- The original low-freezing point, kerosene-type fuel for gas turbine engines. It has a boiling range of 150° to 300°C and a waxing of −50°C. It gives starting problems in cold weather and is not very efficient at high altitudes. It has a tendency to hold both water and solids in suspension. Its British equivalent is AVTUR. See also AVTUR.
